The benefits of ginger and ginger tea are impressive. I love to have ginger tea with my evening meal. Ginger stimulates digestion by causing more digestive enzymes to be produced. It can relieve nausea, heartburn, motion sickness, bloating and menstrual cramps. It has anti-inflammatory effects (via prostaglandin modulation) which can lessen arthritits pain and provide headache relief. It is great in helping to ease the symptoms of the common cold as it can help reduce fever and act as a decongestant. It may also serve as a mood enhancer and stress reliever. Ginger is thought to reduce LDL cholesterol and slow or prevent cancer growth. Last, it is a great breath freshener and thought by Indian culture to be a good detoxifier. For all these reasons, give ginger a try.
