For some reason I have always preferred ice cold showers to warm ones. I find them to be a very invigorating way to start the day. I recently came across some data that suggested that cold showers increase testosterone levels in males, so I did some research to find other health benefits to cold showers.
Here are a list of some additional claimed benefits I came across:
Increases circulation
Flushes the organs of wastes
Strengthens the nervous system
Eliminates toxins
Improves immunity
Tightens the skin
Increases energy
Decreases depression
Enhances weight loss (presumably by burning calories to maintain your body temperature)
The cold shower is not for the faint of heart. It has been advised that people with heart conditions or high blood pressure do not engage in this type of therapy. As always if you decide to try it, check with your medical doctor to get the OK.
