Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) has a number of great health benefits. The father of medicine, Hippocrates, used it as a healing elixir and tonic. It contains an abundance of vitamins, minerals and enzymes. It also contains a fiber called pectin which helps reduce bad cholesterol. It contains calcium and also helps extract calcium from foods to help maintain strong bones. Its high potassium content has a number of health benefits including eliminating toxins from the body. ACV helps in the breakdown of fat which aids in weight loss, and it has been suggested that it helps to speed up metabolism. The malic acid in ACV can help fight infection and dissolve uric acid around the joints to help reduce symptoms of gout. It is said to help with constipation, headaches, yeast infections, high blood pressure, acne, allergies, fatigue, digestion and arthritis. Some apply it directly to the scalp to help with dandruff and give the hair a great shine. To help with bad breath or a sore throat, many ACV enthusiasts gargle with ACV diluted with water. For a great detox bath, one can throw a bottle of ACV in a bath mixed with a box of baking soda and a carton of epsom salt of dead sea salts.

I use ACV that is made from organically grown apples and is free of pesticides and preservatives. I take a tablespoon of ACV diluted with several ounces of water and drink it twice a day before lunch and dinner to help with digestion. You can add a bit of honey to help with taste if needed. ACV can also be used as a salad dressing. My salad dressing consists of ACV and olive oil.

No wonder ACV has been considered to be a wonder food.
